Recently, S.C received good news from its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shenzhen Jiejia Xinchuang Technology Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as: Jiejia Xinchuang), that the first set of Thin-film Capacitor Roll-to-Roll Coating Equipment was successfully delivered. This new type of coating equipment has a coating width of 620mm and an adjustable linear speed of 600~1200m/min. The successful delivery marked Jiejia Xinchuang’s entry into the film capacitor equipment industry and showed that Jiejia Xinchuang has fully earned the trust of customers. Jiejia Xinchuang has been comprehensively and steadily building a platform of vacuum roll-to-roll technology.

 


Ultra-Thin Film Capacitor Rises to Prominence

As the national support for electronic components continues to improve, the market size of film capacitors is growing with each passing day, which is particularly prominent in the new energy sector. The essential problem in producing ultra-thin and heat-resistant films is how to control the thickness and crystallinity of the films during the vapor deposition process of metal films to improve the performance of the capacitor. Due to the extremely high requirements for product quality and production stability, the global supply of equipment is insufficient, Chinese manufacturers are facing challenges, and a supply gap is emerging in the domestic market.

Improving Product Performance with Innovation & Optimization

1. Research high-efficient evaporation source and the supporting cooling system, and develop cryogenic cooling deposition method with proprietary intellectual property rights, with a cooling temperature control range of ±1℃.

2. As required by customers, the equipment is designed with high, medium and low linear speeds, especially that the stability under the high linear speed of 600~1200m/min is verified. The improved production efficiency is better suited to the demands of mass production.

 


3. The R&D team is continuously improving the inline monitoring and adjustment function to increase the product yield. Also, the sheet resistance of metallized film is reduced to improve voltage capability.

4. The originally designed safety film printing module has a higher voltage resistance and significantly improves the safety and reliability of capacitor films. If a capacitor experiences an internal short or open circuit, the safety film feature will automatically disconnect the circuit in the event of such a failure. Such a mechanism prevents electrical arcing and heat dissipation, and significantly reduces potential safety hazards.

The products have shown excellent performance after many tests and validations. The tested sheet resistance uniformity was ±5% maximum, and the OD value was in the range of 0 to 3. In the peel adhesion test, the zinc-aluminum thin film showed almost no flaking or peeling. The zinc layer does not corrode easily, and when not coated with the safety film, it takes 10 minutes for the copper to corrode, which is higher than the industry standard. Through rigorous process verification, multiple aspects of the coating such as quality, uniformity, and safety are able to meet customer requirements.
